The 5 Best Facial Exercisers for Adults (2020)

After some extensive research, I can safely say that the Facial Flex is the most promising facial exerciser on the market right now. Clinical studies have shown that it does indeed tighten up skin (for a more defined jawline), improve speech quality, and treat various disorders of the jaw.

Let’s take a closer look at the Facial Flex and some of its biggest competitors. We’ll also discuss which facial exerciser is best for you.

Facial Flex Facial Exercise and Neck Toning Kit

This well-made facial exerciser really works, and there’s evidence to prove it.

  • Clinical evidence
  • FDA approved

The Facial Flex is the most popular facial exerciser on the market right now. It’s an FDA-approved, dentist-looking device that claims to deliver a “non-invasive” facelift. After reading hundreds of reviews, it seems like the Facial Flex is best at tightening up loose facial skin, thus promoting a defined jawline and overall youthful face.

What sets this exerciser apart from all the others is the extensive testing it’s undergone. On the official Facial Flex website, they link off to a dozen different studies confirming the device’s role in improving skin appearance, speech abilities, and mandibular (jaw) health.

The Facial Flex seems to be primarily targeted towards elder women who want a more youthful experience. While I’m sure it works for all different ages and genders, read on to see some more male-oriented or unisex alternatives.

Jawzrsize Jaw Exerciser And Neck Toning

This facial exerciser functions just like chewing gum. How couldn’t it work?

  • Works like gum
  • Best for jawline gains

The Jawzrsize is a close second to the Facial Flex in terms of popularity. Unfortunately, the Jawzrsize isn’t rated quite as highly. Originally created as a facial rehabilitation device, the Jawzrsize exercise ball gives your chewing muscles a proper workout, which helps develop a stronger, more masculine jawline. As such, I get the feeling that this exerciser targets men more than anyone else.

As of now, there haven’t been any scientific studies on the Jawzrsize. If you take a look at how it works, though, you’ll see that using it is very similar to chewing tough gum. In another post, I discussed how chewing gum does indeed work your jaw muscles for a squarer, stronger jawline. I bet the Jawzrsize can do that too.

Facial Fitness PAO

This Japanese facial exerciser is just like a shake weight for your face.

  • Shake weight workout
  • Highly praised

Another great facial exerciser is the Facial Fitness, by Japanese brand PAO. There’s not a lot of information about the Facial Fitness online, but a handful of users swear by it, with one user writing that it’s like a “shake weight for the face.”

The Facial Fitness comes in black or white and features a small handful of weighted beads. You can switch between the different beads to increase or decrease the strength of your workout, which is a much-welcome feature for many.

Coming in at more than $100, the Facial Fitness by PAO is definitely the priciest option on this lift. If you’re brave enough to try it, there’s another, very similar product by ZYL-beauty. It’s almost identical in how it looks, but there’s even less information about it!

Jaw Exerciser, Double Chin Reducer by Jawfit

This budget facial exerciser works much like the clinically-proven Facial Flex.

  • Inexpensive
  • Works like Facial Flex

It’s time to move on to some of the more budget-friendly options on this list! One of those is the Jawfit, and for almost a quarter of the price of the Facial Flex, it’s definitely an attractive option! The Jawfit looks and works relatively similar to the Facial Flex, claiming to have similar benefits.

One small gripe about the Jawfit is that it doesn’t have any adjustment options, so you’ll have to change your workout routine as you go in order to progress.

Like the other less popular products on this list, there’s hardly any clinical evidence surrounding the Jawfit. I can’t see what harm it would do (after all, it’s a very similar device to others), but you should still bear that in mind.

Do Facial Exercisers Even Work?

After seeing how all these facial exercisers work so differently, the question is: do they even work? Of course, the answer to that question depends on your expectations.

For example, if you want to build a strong and muscular jawline, look no further than the Jawzrsize. You chew on it (a little like gum), thus exercising and growing your jaw muscles. There’s no way it can’t work for that purpose.

However, if you want to slim down your facial appearance, add tone, or tighten up loose skin, it becomes a little more complicated. That’s why the clinical evidence for the Facial Flex is so impressive: it’s been shown to improve facial skin tightness.

For any other purposes, it’s hard to know whether facial exercisers will work. After all, they’re not magic. They may tighten up skin or build your chewing muscles, but it’s hard to expect a lot more.

Which Facial Exerciser to Choose

So far, we’ve discussed four of the best facial exercisers on the market. They all look reasonable, so which should you chose?

As a blanket statement, I would suggest the Facial Flex for those trying to cultivate a more feminine appearance, and the Jawzrsize for trying to cultivate a more masculine appearance. I believe the Facial Flex has the power to create a slimmer, more defined look (because it tightens up skin), while the Jawzrsize is best for building facial muscles for a strong, manly look.

If you can afford it, PAO’s Facial Fitness is worth a try too. That particular face exerciser also seems to tighten up skin, which is what many women are looking for from these tools.

Finally, grab the Jawfit if you need a budget-friendly option.

For those looking to build a more masculine look, a great alternative to all of these facial exercisers is good old chewing gum. A specific brand that’s recommended for this is Falim.
